Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri Dixit is a famous Indian actor, known for her roles in the film Beta Saajan and Hum Aapke Haiin Koun..! In the late 80s when she started her acting career, and was famous for her role as Tezaab, in which she starred with the veteran actor Anil Kapooor. Then she appeared in the movie Dil In which she was on screen alongside Aamir Khan. Born into a middle-class family in Mumbai she began learning to dance at an early age. She ventured into acting as young and fought for several years because the majority of her first films were flops. Her breakthrough came when she finally had success and then became one of the most prominent actresses in the Indian film industry. Following her wedding ceremony, she took a brief absence from acting until she returned. Dixit played an important role in Gulaab Gang, a film focused on women's struggles in India. Dixit was awarded eight Filmfare Awards out of the fifteen she was nominated for. Padma Shri is the fourth most prestigious civilian award in India. She has also been recognized for her work in the social sector.
