The babies were at the crib, as I was strapped in with an infant to my back. Ha! It was beginning to be clear, but wasn't quite finished. The house would need an enormous amount of work and an enthusiasm to shop. To keep within my budget I took my sons along with me as I searched for hidden treasures at estate sales. The schedule we had for the week which consisted of spending the week from the week of Thursday to Saturday scouring estate sales and garage sales shopping for new and used things. I spent the rest of the week sanding and painting the driveway. My love for furniture repair started with an appearance like this. I continued to work on furniture even after we had furnished our house. I had a stand in the market at my local location and also sold items there. Then I bought more that I could decide what to do with and outgrew the space. My home became a place in which I held open houses where up to 1000 visitors could see the items on the first floor, and then purchase them. Growing Days was created in this home. The business I was running was growing, but my family was also growing. The balance was between starting a business and becoming a mother. Growing Days just fit. Nora was born in 2013 to be our fourth baby. Although I was happy with the direction my business took, I felt like I had to take some time off. I decided to step back to spend time at home, spending time with my kids. It was just what I wanted. However after a few months off the phone started to ring. A lot of people contacted me for help about home improvement or decorating. The majority of people who contacted me came from people who attended one of my furniture open house events. I began taking on customers one by one working at my own pace but it didn't take time before I was running numerous accounts and had the complete business of home remodeling. When I first heard about my business in home renovation I laughed. In fact, I do amused when I think of the idea.
